Dr. Pramod Jog

Board Member, Wombto18

Four decades ago, before "public health campaign" was even part of India's vocabulary, a young pediatrician in Pune helped start something that would change the country. Goodbye Polio began as a grassroots movement — door to door, parent to parent — and went on to inspire India's nationwide Pulse Polio campaign. Dr. Pramod Jog was there at its roots, and that instinct to turn local conviction into national impact has defined his career ever since.

In the years since, Dr. Jog has become one of India's most trusted voices in maternal and child health.

He served as President of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics in 2016 and chaired India's Vaccine Advisory Committee (ACVIP), shaping the immunization guidelines that protect millions of children. As Head of Family Medicine and Professor of Pediatrics at D.Y. Patil Medical College, Pune, he has spent his career not just treating children, but training the generations of doctors who treat them now.

His influence reaches well beyond India. As a steering committee member for GAVI's Civil Society Organizations and a standing committee member of the International Pediatric Association, Dr. Jog has helped shape vaccine access and child health policy on a global stage — work recognized through thousands of talks and presentations delivered to clinicians and policymakers worldwide.

Even with all this, he's never confined his idea of child wellness to the clinic alone. A pioneer in pediatric asthma care, Dr. Jog has long championed a more complete view of health — one where Ayurveda, yoga, and integrative practices sit alongside modern medicine in raising healthier children.

That same wholeness is what he brings to Wombto18's board: clinical rigor, decades of public trust, and an unwavering belief that nurturing a child is never just about treating illness — it's about walking with every milestone, from womb to adulthood.
