Mother, child, and doctor — WombTo18 Our Story

Built Because No Child Should Fall Through the Gaps

In India, thousands of children miss critical vaccines each year. Many families lack continuous health support, schools operate without structured wellness programs, and care between a child's pediatrician, school, and home is fragmented at best. WombTo18 exists to close those gaps — one connected health record at a time.

Why We Started

A gap too BIG to ignore

In India, thousands of children miss critical vaccines each year. Many families lack continuous health support, schools operate without structured wellness programs, and climate change continues to threaten the very world our children are set to inherit.

We saw a system that needed a bridge — between missed vaccines and timely care, between fragmented records and continuous support, between a difficult start and a healthier childhood. That bridge is WombTo18.

The Real Story

One message can change everything

In India, thousands of families face this every year — missed vaccines, no school wellness checkups, and no connected way to track a child's health from one stage to the next.

"In 2024, we asked ourselves a simple question: what if a single text message, sent at exactly the right moment, could save a child's life?"

That simple idea became WombTo18 under OTAAT ('One Text at a Time') — sending timely SMS reminders to expectant mothers. Our Pune pilot proved how one message can change everything.

Today, WombTo18 cares for every child — from pregnancy to 18 — through timely health alerts, essential checkups, guided milestones , and a tree planted for every registration.

A Vision Born from Purpose

Built by a mother who
saw the gap firsthand.

Our founder, Sowjanya Reddy, launched WombTo18 not just as a technologist, but as a mother — someone who saw firsthand how a well-timed message could protect a child, ease a parent's burden, and inspire real change.

WombTo18 is not just a platform. It's a public movement — built on empathy, powered by technology, and rooted in action.

Founder's Note

"One child dies every minute in India, from preventable causes."

More than 600,000 infants in India never see their first birthday.

In 2023, the burden was real — even as it improved. India's infant mortality has been falling for two decades, but it remains close to one death every minute. A large share of these deaths are from causes medicine has already solved: missed vaccinations, delayed care, gaps no one was tracking.

This isn't about blame. It's about infrastructure. Behind every number is a child who could have laughed, learned, and lived — and a missed reminder, a missed dose, a missed window.

At WombTo18, we believe a simple reminder can change the course of a life. From pregnancy to 18 years, we build the infrastructure that catches what the system misses — timely alerts, school-based screening, and follow-through.

"Because prevention isn't complicated — it's just often forgotten. Let's change that, together."
