What is NEP 2020 — and How Does WombTo18's HPS Program Align With It?
WombTo18's Health Promoting Schools (HPS) program is aligned with the vision of NEP 2020 — building healthier, happier, and future-ready children.

What is NEP 2020?
The National Education Policy 2020 is India's roadmap for transforming education from preschool through higher education. It shifts the definition of a "successful student" away from marks alone, toward something broader: a child who is healthy, curious, skilled, emotionally secure, and ready for life.
In practice, NEP 2020 asks schools to take seriously:
Physical health
Preventive care, nutrition, fitness
Mental well-being
Emotional and social skills, not just academic pressure
Environmental responsibility
Sustainability as a lived value, not a chapter in a textbook
Parent participation
Education as a shared responsibility between school and home
Life skills
Communication, collaboration, digital literacy, problem-solving
NEP 2020 also restructured schooling into a 5+3+3+4 stage model (Foundational, Preparatory, Middle, Secondary), with a focus that evolves from play-based learning to career readiness by Class 12.
Where Health Fits Into NEP 2020
NEP 2020 explicitly recommends that schools pay structured attention to student health — through health cards, preventive healthcare, nutrition tracking, counselling, and fitness and wellness programs.
This is named as part of what a school owes its students, alongside academics.

A Simple Way to Think About It
NEP 2020 says every child should grow up healthy, curious, skilled, and ready for life — not just good at exams.
"That's also, in plain terms, what WombTo18 exists to support: a child's health and development tracked consistently from early years through adolescence, in partnership with their school and family.

An Important Clarification
WombTo18 is aligned with the vision and objectives of NEP 2020 — we are not certified, approved, or compliance-audited by the Ministry of Education under NEP 2020, and we don't claim to be.
"Alignment" here means our program's goals and NEP 2020's goals for student health point in the same direction, and our HPS framework is one practical way schools can act on the policy's health-related recommendations.
